"Diamonds are a girls best friend". This section is to help you learn about diamonds and understand exactly what you are purchasing.

Purchasing an engagement ring

A rough guide for budgeting for an engagement ring is one to three months salary. This is a significant and life long purchase. The diamond ring you choose should be one that you can both be proud of but should not cause undue financial pressure that may take away from the enjoyment of celebrating your engagement.

Purchasing a diamond engagement ring is a pleasure at Eternity Jewellery. Sit down and have a coffee in our shop while getting unobtrusive expert advice.

Couples often come in to the shop together to make this special purchase, but some prefer to have the ring ready when they propose. There are no hard and fast rules. Similarly, when it comes to the style of ring the choice is very personal. It is not unusual to see an eternity ring used as an engagement ring. We are more than happy to guide you through the styles available within your budget.

Why not browse through the engagement rings online using our website. The guide below will help to demistify some of the language used in the ring descriptions.

Clarity
Clarity refers to the number of inclusions in a diamond. These are small imperfections in the diamond. Click on the title for more information on how diamonds are graded for clarity.
Colour
The colour of a diamond ranges from no colour to noticable colour. Yellow diamonds are sometimes used for contrast with clearer diamonds.
